Vaccine Trial For COVID-19 Temporarily Stop

Friday, September 11, 2020 | 0 comments

AstraZeneca a drug company that has an ongoing trial on their developed vaccine for COVID-19 has recently stop their vaccine trial due to one of the volunteers develop sickness or illness wherein they still do not know if it is the result of the vaccine or side effects or the volunteer is just sick or ill with no knowledge why.

“Drug giant AstraZeneca said Tuesday it had paused global trials of its coronavirus vaccine because of an unexplained illness in one of the volunteers.” (CNN)
After one of its volunteers fell sick with an unexplained illness, the clinical trial testing AstraZeneca’s experimental COVID-19 vaccine has been temporarily put on hold. There’s no available evidence suggesting that the illness is linked to the vaccine, CNN reports. But AstraZeneca still needs to investigate and review its safety data before the trial can proceed. Otherwise, the researchers won’t know whether the volunteer just happened to get sick or if the vaccine has more side effects than they thought.” (Futurism)

The name of the COVID-19 vaccine developed by AstraZeneca is ‘Oxford Vaccine”.

The company is testing its vaccine, called the Oxford vaccine because it was developed with Britain's University of Oxford, in the United States as well as the UK, Latin America, Asia, Europe and Africa.” (CNN)
