Panay Island is an island in the Philippines located at the western part of the Visayas Region of the Philippines.
The Panay Islands was originally inhabited by Negritos or locally called the Ati Tribe.The Ati tribe was dispersed by sultan of Borneo back in 1250 in an innocent aggreement in exchange for hat and gold necklace.The Islands was consequently inhabited by Malay and Bornean Datus which escaped the repression from the Sri Vishayan Empire.
The Panay Island have many rivers including Akean, Banica, Iloilo, and Panay that is why it is abundant of sea foods
