K-pop fans will be surprise upon knowing that their
favorite K-pop songs on Spotify have disappear which is the recent news. The
removal of K-Pop songs from Spotify website according to the news from Kakao M.
K-Pop music distributor on Spotify is due to that the existing license deal of
the website and the music distributor has expired or come to an end. However, Spotify
hope this is just temporary. But Kakao M said it is Spotify the one would not
renew the license.
“Hundreds of popular K-pop songs have been removed
from Spotify, amid a dispute with South Korean music distributor Kakao M. Releases
by popular acts including Sistar, IU, Monsta X and Epik High have vanished,
leaving fans frustrated.”(BBC)
