Part of our needs,wants and likes is spending for the things that are sentimental to us like for example,a bouquet of flower and gifts for the people we love and important to us.
Why is this? Because we are not living all by ourselves;we are living also for the love of others.
Our sentimentality prevails whenever we saw this and that or these and those and from there "Sentimental Spending" comes out or our being "Sentimental Spender" comes out.We can't help it because we have a heart that loves.
